We are happy to announce that BEVALDIA is officially expanding its reach to now serve major ports across Northern Spain. Our IACS certified diving team and advanced equipment are fully operational and ready to support your vessels in Vigo, A Coruña, Gijón, Avilés, Santander, Bilbao, Pasajes, and surrounding areas.
Northern Spain’s Atlantic-facing ports sit on the primary Bay of Biscay routing for vessels travelling between Northern Europe and the Atlantic. Vigo is one of Spain’s most active fishing and cargo ports, while Bilbao and Santander serve as key entry points for ro-ro, bulk, and container traffic heading into the Iberian Peninsula. Gijón and Avilés are major bulk and industrial cargo ports servicing the northern Spanish industrial belt. For vessels completing transatlantic voyages or Cape-route legs, these ports represent a logical maintenance window before or after Northern European port rotations.
We provide a comprehensive range of in-water maintenance and repair services to keep your fleet operating at peak efficiency, including:
- Underwater Inspections (CCTV, class surveys (IACS), and photographic inspections)
- Propeller Polishing (for optimized fuel efficiency)
- Sea Chests Cleaning
- Rudder Cleaning & Maintenance
- Underwater Anodes Replacement – corrosion protection serviced in-water, no drydock required
- Underwater Rope Cutter Replacement – particularly relevant for Vigo given its active fishing fleet
- Drydock Extension Inspections – IACS-approved in-water inspections to extend drydock intervals
- Underwater Waterproofing Services – in-water sealing and repair
- Underwater Ultrasonic Measurements – hull thickness measurement without drydocking
- UW Inspection for Grounding – emergency response capability
- Bow Thruster Repair & Maintenance – in-water servicing of bow thrusters
- Underwater Welding – structural in-water repairs certified to ISO standards
Northern Spain’s ports operate under strict environmental regulations that prohibit conventional hull cleaning in-water. BEVALDIA fully complies with all local port authority requirements. Vessels requiring hull cleaning can be serviced at our nearby stations in Algeciras or Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where our full hull cleaning capability — including ROV inspection and fouling reclaim systems — is available. For all other maintenance and inspection needs, our Northern Spain team is fully operational.
